As children, we inherit our religion if any, from our parents and in most cases from the society or country in which we are born. As adults, if we choose to use our own minds and examine our religious beliefs, we have choices to make.

First, do I believe in an intelligent entity governing our universe? If no, then you are an atheist and live according to your own moral or value system.

If yes, then you have to read about all the Western religions (Judaic, Islamic, Christian, Ercian) and choose one. That is what a person seeking a formal religion would do. The Ercian religion is a formal religion founded by me, Joseph Marchante, but it is not a publicly universally known, established or accepted religion.

The problem to committing oneself totally to one religion, as I see it, is that one could have chosen the wrong religion and the wrong god. PROLIGION says, why put all your eggs in one basket? It is okay to prefer one religion over others and practice that one, but if an intelligent god exists ruling our universe, and if that god is a good god, it will accept us into Heaven or wherever we go when we die whether we have the right religion or not. If we were good persons while living on Earth, a good God would not reject us..

Now supposing the god ruling over our universe is not a good god but an evil god, should we care? Well, if we are human beings who committed ourselves to GOODNESS, to being good persons, then that god is our enemy. We can either fight him or her anyway we can if that is possible and we have the powers to do it, or we can just accept our fate as enemies of the ruling power, or we can renounce our commitment to goodness and submit ourselves to that god’s evil rule. That would be the choice each soul would have to make if, God forbid, an evil god rules our universe.
